How long does it take to get a facility certified by the Safe Feed/Safe Food program?
Once all materials (fully completed application and registration/licensing fee) are submitted to AFIA, AFIA will send the facility the facility number and list of CBs within ten business days. The facility will contact the CB of their choice and the CB will request the self-surveillance audit form and invoice for the audit fee within five business days. The CB will then try to schedule an inspection within 30 days of receiving the audit fee.
