Third-party certifications for animal food safety can be awarded through one of four programs under the Safe Feed/Safe Food (SF/SF) certification program, with FSC36 being the standard program. FSC36 is our simple code that helps facilities prepare for compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act’s animal food rule and exceed regulatory requirements. It is a good starting point for companies looking to sharpen their employees’ understanding of the regulations with a program trusted by the Food and Drug Administration. To get started, you will first need to contact a third-party certification body, which has auditors trained in conducting FSC36 SF/SF audits. This program can be audited by any of the following six certifying bodies that the AFIA works closely with:
