International SF/SF Certification
Third-party certifications for animal food safety can be awarded through one of four programs under the Safe Feed/Safe Food (SF/SF) certification program, with I-SF/SF being the program used for those who exports animal food or ingredients internationally. Launched in 2010, this program was created in partnership with FAMI-QS and is made available in cooperation with the European Feed Additives and Premixtures Association (FEFANA). It conforms to the European Union’s regulations for hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP).
Certification Bodies
To get started, you will first need to contact a third-party certification body which has auditors trained in conducting I-SF/SF audits. Three certifying bodies perform the I-SF/SF audits:

Costs
The total cost of the program is $3,000 USD, with an annual bill over three years of $1,000 USD. Please note that there is also a fee for the actual audit, which is up to the discretion of the certifying body. Contact Bureau Veritas, Eurofins or SGS to discuss audit availability and establish the cost for the auditing expenses, including the auditor's travel expenses.
Certified Facilities
FAMI-QS maintains the list of certified companies on its website. When searching for your facility, you must type “I” into the “FAMI-QS NUMBER” box for the I-SF/SF facilities to display.
